QUARTERBACK
Bruce Gradkowski vs. Washington
I am on the Gradkowski band wagon. His career has been one awful team after another so Oakland is like home to him. He put up 300 yards with three touchdowns on the road in Pittsburgh and pulled off the greatest upset this season. The Raiders are running high while the Redskins are probably still kicking themselves for blowing their own upset last week (one chip shot away from beating the unbeaten Saints). I’ll go with the Raiders putting together their first win streak of the season.
RUNNING BACK
Chris Brown vs. Seattle
Brown is the goal line back and has two straight weeks with a touchdown. Even better news for Brown, Steve Slaton is out for the year so Ryan Moats and Brown will still split time for the rest of the year. He is going to get touches, especially in the red zone, so he is a keeper for rest of the year. Picture Jerome Bettis a few years ago.
Leonard Weaver at New York Giants
I’m going with Weaver against the division rival Giants. Westbrook still is not going to return and Weaver is coming off a big week. He is a big guy who can catch the ball, which is always a valuable asset for any team off the bench.
Jerome Harrison vs. Pittsburgh
Not the best pick up, but the Browns are going to play conservative against the Steelers and with the freezer Cleveland play in. He is going to get touches and receptions but who knows if the Brownies will actually move the ball. However, the Browns have some favorable match ups towards the end of the season and could double up in the win column.
WIDE RECEIVER
Kenny Britt vs. St. Louis
Three straight weeks with a touchdown (complete opposite of his counterpart, Nate Washington) and going up against the Rams is a good sign of extending the streak to four. Vince Young looks more and more comfortable behind center each week and is extremely comfortable throwing the ball to Britt. You should at least think about this one a little.
Davone Bess and Brian Hartline at Jacksonville
Move over Ted Gin Jr., bring in another Buckeye to take your place. Hartline has secured the number two spot with a touchdown the past two weeks while Bess caught 10 receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown to go with his career game. The Jaguars defense have allowed opposing QBs post a 90 rating along with the 10th most yards allowed. It is a favorable match up for both players.
TIGHT END
Zach Miller vs. Washington
If you don’t feel confident in Gradkowski, at least have faith in Miller. He has been the most consistent receiver for the Raiders and has posted 14 receptions for 181 yards and a touchdown the past three weeks. Not bad for a Raiders tight end and his two touchdowns have come in big upsets at home (Eagles and Bengals). If you don’t like your TE match up this week, go with Miller.
DEFENSE
Buffalo at Kansas City
I know this is a stretch since they are one of the worst rush defenses in the league but they are also one of the best at intercepting the ball. If they force the pass, the Bills should have plenty of picks to add for a nice fantasy week. The Chiefs do not have much going besides Jamaal Charles running the ball but the Bills just need to focus on slowing him down to make either Cassel or Croyle pass (it doesn’t matter who is passing, neither can do the job).
KICKER
Shayne Graham at Minnesota
6 for 6 the past two weeks and is going to his second straight dome this week. He is on a roll and can’t miss.
